Green RVs November 11th, 2008 You wouldn’t expect a Recreational Vehicle to win any prizes for “low-impact living,” but Alexandre Verdier did win a prize for his environmentally-friendly Westfalia Verdier, reports Linda Baker in the New York Times (11/7/08). Alexandre took a standard-issue Volkswagen Westfalia and not only equipped it with a “diesel hybrid engine,” but also “solar panels that are controlled by a global positioning system to capture the maximum amount of sunlight.” H
